Bujinkan
What is Bujinkan?
Bujinkan is an organization which is made up of 9 martial arts schools, three of the 9 schools are ninjutsu (Techniques used by ninjas) and the other six are Bujutsu ("Art of war", used by samurais).
The Bujinkan was founded by Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi, who inherited these schools from his teacher Toshitsugu Takamatsu.
To facilitate teaching in these schools, Hatsumi created the Bujinkan organization in honor of Takamatsu Toshitsugu. It is here where the essence of all schools is taught, in a cyclical way. Having remained the Soke (highest title in Bujinkan) for many years (1972-2019), Hatsumi Sensei has granted the new degrees of DaiShihan (Grand Master), as well as some degrees of Soke of the different schools that make up the Bujinkan.
